Includes audition notes, book and play reviews, cartoons, correspondence, galley proofs, interviews, magazine pieces, memorabilia, newspaper ads, photographs, playbills, publicity posters, scripts, song lyrics, sound and video recordings, and theatre tickets documenting King's career as a free lance writer, legislative aide, playwright and author. Includes materials by or about Billy Lee Brammer, Pat Oliphant, Billy Porterfield, and Bud Shrake. Correspondence includes dozens of short notes to King in response to King's plays as well as cover letters to Bill Wittliff explaining the significance of virtually every item in the collection.
